Wars, the fraying of alliances and international order, political extremism and fragmentation, natural catastrophes — all this is making the unthinkable suddenly look possible: the undoing of the European project. How could it happen? And what can be done to prevent it?
In this Schuman lecture, Constanze Stelzenmüller, an expert on German, European and transatlantic foreign and security policy, will share her view on the future of the European project, its security policy and strategy, transatlantic relations, the role of NATO and other geopolitical issues.
The Schuman lecture is organised annually by Maastricht University and the City of Maastricht in commemoration of Robert Schuman and the Treaties of Rome (1957) and Maastricht (1992). Robert Schuman (1886-1963) was the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and co-founder of the European Union.
