What happens to your photos, voice notes, search history, emails, and social media accounts when you die? Do they rest in peace, or do they live on in the cloud forever? This symposium will explore the legal, ethical, and social dimensions of digital legacy. From deepfake therapies to the legality of receiving passwords from passed away loved ones, from digital wills to the right not to be resurrected, it will shine a light on a topic that (eventually) touches us all, yet is often left undiscussed. Speakers: Bart van der Sloot (Associate Professor at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT)), Anuj Puri Postdoctoral Researcher TILT) and Sander van der Meer (Digital Legacy Expert at Knowledge and Expertise Center Digital Life Legacy).
